Initial Idea Pitch:
Introducing My Initial Idea:
Last Wednesday I presented the initial idea for my film; an overview of the plot, of some characters and some of the things I want to take into account. Here are the google slides with all the information that I used:
I tried to match the design of my production company in the design of the presentation. I wanted to include a background image of a sunset with birds, as this is what I want the opening image to be. I might use a shot from the window of a car and a voiceover and make this the main shot.
Pitch Video:
This is the video of the presentation to the class:
When I was going to upload it to YouTube, I came across One Drive and I discovered that I could add little titles to the different sections of the video. I spent some time doing it, and I think it looks more professional now!
My peers were very supportive and encouraging about my initial idea, and they really liked the aesthetic of the presentation and how clean-cut it looked, which I take as positive feedback. The boys in my class gave me positive feedback regarding the male lead, which is something I wanted to consult with them as I wanted to make a realistic and versatile character who was not a plain version of a teenage fantasy.
Mr garrison also gave me positive feedback and some important ideas that I am going to take into account:
Sound: Ms garrison gave me and all of the class an insight about recording sound, so I will make sure to record sound on a separate device such as a mobile phone.
Idea for the structure of the opening: Having a constant shot with a voice-over looking at the sky from the car window, and cutting to flashbacks or flash-forwards from there.
Using props like diaries or mobile phones to try and include some information about the plot such as her mum marrying again, meeting the boy, etc.
