Location Reconnaissance:

 My Filming Locations!

Hello everyone!

This is a post about the locations that I used in my film opening. I have already talked about the location change that occurred one day before I planned on filming, but I wanted to make this more detailed and explain why I chose these locations to film in the first place.

I also wanted to give an UPDATE on what I have been doing lately. I have been organising my footage and started to edit it already, which I am very excited about. I will try to keep posting regularly although my first priority will be to try my best at editing the film opening so that it looks just like I envision it.

One of the reasons why I have not posted this earlier, or before the filming, is because I was not going to be able to get a good picture of my friend's couch and living room before I went there to film, and the same thing happened when I changed location for the 'packing and leaving' scene.

But anyway here it is so, without further ado, I hope you enjoy it!

xx Natalia

Location for the Morning Routine Scene:

This is the guest room in my house, we have a small electric piano which I have tried not to film too much.

I have used this because it has a decent amount of space in the middle that allows both the actress and me (with the camera) to move and film comfortably. It also has a desk right below the window, which I need for the first shot, and it looks very clean-cut and plenty of natural light in the morning.

We had to tidy it up as much as we could to convey the fact that Summer was moving away.

Location for the Packing and Leaving Scene:

This is the location that changed at the last minute. It is the entryway of a house whose owners were selling it, and hence it was quite tidy and empty

I had planned on using the living-room of the house to film, but it had a very rustic style that clashed with the room where I filmed the previous scene. Nevertheless, the floor-to-ceiling windows in the hall gave a lot of natural light and I instantly fell in love with the place.

In the picture, my actresses are also ready to film, and all the boxes that I brought as props are in their place; this way, the impression that they are moving is conveyed successfully. In the centre, there is also a tripod which I used to get more stable shots and some smooth camera movement.

Location for the Car Ride Scene:

For the car ride scene, I chose to film inside my parents' car so that I could film my actress María looking out of the window. The filming will take place in the back seat, although it is only she and her mum in the car, because it will be easier to film from the opposite seat this way.

For the POV shots, I plan on filming those myself from her car perspective.

Location for the Cosy Sofa Scene:

I chose this location because it is tidy and very cosy. It is the sofa in my friend's living room; it has a lot of space in front of the sofa, which is good for the actors and the camera to be comfortably placed and the white sofas look very clean-cut but also cosy, maintaining the image I had in mind for the whole film opening.
